A Lost Year In Math

American students suffered a substantial loss of education in the last three years. Recent studies comparing assessments of students in 2022 with the same assessments given during the previous three years, found that students have lost an average of four months of learning. Studies show that students fell behind five months in math alone.

Taking into consideration the fact that these results reflect the abilities of only those students who opted in to taking the year-end assessments, it isn’t difficult to imagine that the results would have been much worse had they included students at every skill level.
